Aloha. My name is Adventure and I’ll be your tour guide today as I take you to one of Hawaii’s best-kept secrets, Cockroach Cove, also known as Hālona Cove.
The parking lot is small and it is nearly always packed full, so expect to wait to get a parking spot.
Cockroach Cove is a small beach that does not have a lifeguard and it is past a sign indicating danger beyond that point.
The trail down is a little steep, but fairly easy and only takes a couple of minutes.
In the past, it has been fenced off to prevent people from going down to the cove as many people have died here.
It can be very dangerous at the cove, as I discovered first-hand and I show this at the end of this video.
Cockroach Cove is located below the Hālona Blowhole Viewpoint, and you will park in Hālona Blowhole parking area.
The approximate address is:
8483 HI-72, Honolulu, HI 96825
Please know that there are no bathrooms anywhere around.
There have been blockbuster movies that have been filmed here, such as Fifty First Dates with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, From Here to Eternity, Blue Hawaii, Jurassic World, and Hunger Games.
There is a lava tube cave that you can go in to if you like, but be careful and don’t hit your head.
Please, please, please, do not litter or drop your trash, or garbage, or rubbish, or anything at all, while you are in Hawaii and please, observe the leave no trace rules.
Remember, as always wherever you go and whatever you do, you are always responsible for your own safety and should always abide by all posted signs and laws.
Never, ever, ever, turn your back to the ocean or you will learn the hard way how dangerous and deadly it can be.
Enjoy the beautiful area but please be safe and respectful to the land because it, and you, are extremely important to us all.
I went in to an area that I should not have been in, and the sudden wave destroyed hundreds of dollars of electronic film equipment and serves as a lesson to us all.
I hope you have enjoyed this video.
