The Waikiki Beach walls is a popular and fun place to be. You can catch a wave on a boogie board and ride it right into the shore. Be sure to not hit the wall as you are coming in! You can hang out on the wall and watch everybody else having a good time. There are some great views from this spot as well, as it overlooks Waikiki Beach.
This is the infamous Waikiki Beach walls. One side of the wall is a contained area that is great for young kids and families to play in because there are very little waves here. On the diamond head side of the wall, is a place that is designated only for bodyboarding and boogie boarding. There are no surfboards or anything else allowed in the area.
You can go to the store and buy a boogie board for very cheap. Ride it hard and give it away you're done with your vacation, that is, if it hasn’t broke in half by then.
Perhaps you will try some skim boarding as well. Usually, it’s the younger generation that participates in skim boarding as it can cause some pain if you aren’t good on your feet.
There are many stores around that sell boogie boards. You won’t have a hard time finding one at all.
The Waikiki Beach Walls is located across from the Honolulu Zoo, at the intersection of Kalakaua Avenue and Kapahulu Avenue in Waikiki, Honolulu, on the island of Oahu, in the state of Hawaii.
You definitely should park your vehicle in the zoo's parking lot as that is a great pay parking area. It currently is a 24 hour a day parking area that currently charges just $1.50 per hour, at one hour increments, starting at just one hour. It's the best parking around and the Why-kee-kee walls is basically across the street.
Be sure to bring your camera and plenty of memory space to take lots of pictures here. Or just bring your swimsuit and go play in the waves. It's very warm water that you will be laughing and playing in for hours.
Bring water with you to the beach too, but please use a re-usable container.
So many choice hotels within a very close distance to here, as well as places to eat.
Holy cow! Look at these guys! Some of them are pretty crazy! It’s noteworthy to mention that there is a sign displayed that says to not jump from the wall, just so you know.
We now only have reef safe sunscreen here so that none of it will hurt our reefs. Please don’t use any sunscreen that you may have brought from home as it may be illegal to use if it is not reef-safe sunscreen. After all, we want to attract the turtles and other marine life, not repel it.
You're going to love it here. It’s absolutely amazing.
